The artist of ARTEPOZA refusing to be constrained by single forms of expression, the poetic Chinese landscape painting concept of “speaking for the mountains and streams” is expressed across 105 porcelain plates. This work passed through three production phases. The first being “elaboration,” which included coloring the background with soft baby blue. The artist painted with one hand while spraying water with the other, creating the base color for lakes and mountains, while the sky was depicted through light yellow colors. The second stage was “landscaping,” where the artist used secondary smudging to create depth, revealing the layers of rolling mountains and calm waters. The last step was “creating sentiments.” The artist applied cobalt and Prussian blue through dry brushing and dotting, adding trees, boats, and birds to the landscape. The soaring birds are a metaphor for fleeting time. Sitting in solitude within the boat and having a dialogue with the self in the vast landscape, this conversation in the midst of the mountains expresses the calm and quietness of the mind.
